Playing Age of Empires III on a Mac via Hamachi

Dear community,

lately I remembered, that I had a blast playing AOE3 via hamachi 10 years ago. As wanted to relive the nostalgia I tried to play a round with a friend, who is also on Mac and has the same AOE3 version.

Unfortunately, although we could join each others networks on hamachi, we were not able to play together. The IP shown within Age of Empires III was either the normal network IP, or 0.0.0.0, but the never the one we received through hamachi.

Did anyone manage to make it work? Any help is greatly appreciated!
